The number of panthers in Florida has been steadily increasing since 1995—a recent study found that 100-160 of these cats now live and breed in south Florida. However most Florida Panther deaths are caused by collisions with cars and trucks; in the first six months of 2013 ten cats have been killed by vehicles.
