Blue jays are common in Florida. These conspicuous, noisy birds adapt well to suburban back yards and city parks. They are often seen at bird feeders and have a reputation for eating the eggs and nestlings of other birds. They also feed on fruit, nuts, seeds and insects and lizards. They sometimes cache seeds for later use.
