Silver Perch, also known as yellowtail, are members of the drum family. These silvery fish can be found on both Florida coasts in open inland waters and are rarely found offshore. The bodies of these fish are usually silvery white and their fins can have a yellow tint to them.

Perch are usualy found in large schools and can be caught on small hooks with pieces of cut shrimp or squid. If you get into an area with many of these fish, be prepared to move or get your bait stolen. While silver perch are said to be a tasty fish, they are rarely more than nine inches and so are not usually kept for food.
