Fishing

Fishing in Cedar Key Redfish

Florida is a fisherman’s paradise. The state has hundreds of freshwater lakes, rivers and canals, and salt-water fishing enthusiasts have access to thousands of kilometers of coastline. Full or half day fishing charters are available in most coastal towns. If you would like to fish while you are in Florida, you will need a fishing license. A non- resident can buy a 7-day freshwater fishing license for US$ 16.50 and a 7-day saltwater fishing license for US$ 15.00. Children under the age of 16 do not need a license. The money from the license fee is used to improve and restore fish habitat, conduct research, enforce the law, and educate the public. To receive an instant license call 1-888-FISH-FLORIDA, or click on this link to the FWC license site.
